The Tampa area is one of the top metro areas pushing growth in Florida jobs, as seen in increases in Tampa jobs over the year and over the month in March and April 2012.

The Tampa area also has the second highest number of nonfarm employees — nearly 1.15 million as of March 2012, second only again to Miami area’s number.
In April 2012, the Tampa area again registered the second biggest year-over-year increase in nonfarm jobs. Another 12,600 Tampa jobs were added to the jobs on record in April 2011. It was second again to the Miami area, which posted an increase of 13,700 jobs.
