Apollo Beach Homes Getting Pricier

Over the four-month period from March to June 2012, the median sales price for Apollo Beach homes have increased significantly from $192,000 in March to $234,950 in June.  That’s a jump of 22.37%! These figures refer to sales of single-family homes, condos and townhomes,  as compiled by the Florida Realtors organization.

The pace by which the median home sales price increased over the month also jumped up, with the April price rising by 1.56%, the May price rising by 9.23%, and the June price going up sharply by 10.3%.

May 2012         $213,000
June 2012        $234,950

Looking at the sales data for single-family homes and condos separately, the median sales price for single-family homes sold in Apollo Beach also increased from month to month while the median price for condos followed an up and down pattern.  Sold single -family homes posted a median price of $319,000 in June, representing a whopping increase of 64.32% from $194,135 in March.

In June, the median sales price for Apollo Beach single-family homes, condos and townhomes sold also improved its ranking over the median sales price in other communities in Hillsborough County.  From a ranking of 14th in March 2012, the median price became the 8th highest median price in June 2012.

Apollo Beach is a census-designated place in Hillsborough County with a population of a little more than 14,000 as of 2010. White residents are the majority, accounting for around 77 percent of the total population. Hispanics come second, accounting for nearly 13 percent, and blacks and Asian come third and fourth, accounting for 5.6 percent and 2.5 percent, respectively.

The nearest cities to Apollo Beach are Ruskin, Gibsonton, Sun Center, Wimauma, Riverview, Boyette, Progressive, and Lithia.

If you’re looking for quaint and quiet, Apollo Beach is great for you.  If you need to get to nearby cities quickly, you always have easy access to U.S. Route 41 and Interstate 75.  The abundance of waterfront homes is also a gift for prospective homebuyers who enjoy boating and fishing all throughout the year.  The area’s canals lead to Tampa Bay and farther to the Gulf of Mexico.
