Among the Top 20 Best Cities for Gen Y workers, Tampa has the second lowest median pay for Gen Y employees, at $36,600. It’s a bit higher than that of Riverside, which is $33,800, and closer to that of Miami, which is $38,100, and Saint Louis, which is $38,200.
However, Tampa has the 8th highest rate of wage increase for industry employees over the period from the second quarter of 2011 to the second quarter of 2012. Tampa increased its wages over this period by 2.7%, higher than those of San Francisco, San Diego, Baltimore, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia, which have the highest median salaries for Gen Y workers.
