InVision Initiatives — Bonus for Buyers of Tampa Homes

Posted on October 16, 2013

The city of Tampa’s InVision initiatives surely are a bonus for buyers of Tampa homes, most especially owner-buyers of downtown Tampa condos,  as this program aims to make the center of the city livable, walkable, sustainable, economically viable and celebratory of the opportunities arising from its Hillsborough River and waterfront.

Disaster recovery preparation is a huge buzz phrase in business today. Every day I go into businesses and talk about disaster recovery and ask what steps are taken to protect the business from a disaster. That is when the confusion starts; most companies are confusing disaster recovery with business continuity planning. Business continuity planning is the planning for a disaster; disaster recovery is the implementation of the business continuity plan. Disaster Recovery and Construction Company has assembled a top-notch response team to handle extreme-rush jobs and disaster relief construction for commercial customers.

Residents of downtown and nearby neighborhoods are envisioned to have livable spaces with easy walkable connections to the river, the riverfront, mixed-use structures, trails, business centers, schools, parks, museums, arts centers, healthcare centers, leisure facilities, other attractions and easy linkages to other areas through multi-modal transit. To get large projects like this going and breaking grounds, the community can seek services from land excavating experts.

The  Invision Tampa program  divided its many goals and endeavors into ten initiatives, which it named as follows:

1.    River Places

New river places will be created or enhanced to support activities along the Hillsborough River and Garrison Channel. Among main River Places are Heights Waterfront, West Tampa Waterfront, Julian B Lane Riverfront Park, North Downtown Village, University of Tampa and West Riverwalk, New Core Westbank, New Downtown Core Connection to Water, and South Downtown Waterfront.
Among endeavors that are already underway are water taxi from Lowry Park to downtown, bridge lighting, repair of clockage at Bayshore Boulevard, extension of the Riverwalk to the west side of the Hillsborough River, and boating, kayak and paddle board access at Fort Brooke Park and Garrison Channel.

2.    Downtown Public Realm Improvements

Parks and streets will be set as primary elements of residents and guests’ great urban experience, thereby encouraging private developers and investors to locate their new projects downtown. One of efforts already underway is the completion of Perry Harvey Park and Waterworks Park.

3.    North Downtown Village

This neighborhood will become a multimodal walkable area that will attract new development, thereby enhancing the value of Riverwalk and cultural venues east to Nebraska Avenue. Among efforts already underway are the improvement of Perry Harvey Park and preparations for a future multi-modal high-speed rail site.

4.    South Downtown Reurbanization

The South Downtown redevelopment effort will connect the Channel District to downtown’s core cultural and entertainment centers through a pattern of streets, blocks and public spaces. Among the efforts already underway are the repositioning of the Channelside retail center and establishment of easement for Cumberland Avenue connection.

5.    Neighborhood Connectors

Key street corridors will be repositioned to enhance neighborhood and business connections.

6.    East-West Green Spine

A lovely and safe cross-city multi-purpose trail will link the eastern and western Center City neighborhoods to the Riverwalk.

7.    Cross River Transit

A local transit route crossing the river from the Channel District to North Hyde Park will link residential, academic and employment areas.

8.    Neighborhood Redevelopment

Neighborhoods will be redeveloped to make them healthier and stronger.

9.    Remade Tampa + Florida Corridors

Tampa Street and Florida Avenue will be rebalanced as local streets to provide regional access to neighborhoods.

10.    Med Ed District Collaboration

The city will maximize its partnership with educational, healthcare and business organizations to facilitate community revitalization.  With these ten initiatives, owner-buyers of  Tampa real estate properties  have so much to be excited about, in addition to the features, facilities and opportunities they can immediately enjoy after purchasing their  Tampa homes.
