The last quarter of the year ushered in at least four more companies that will create more Tampa jobs in 2014 and in the next years to come, as announced by the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corp. These are:

Covidien to Create 165 New Jobs
Covidien will invest $18 million to build and operate a medical device manufacturing facility in Hillsborugh County. While waiting for the facility to get constructed, it will lease space in Sabal Park in Riverview.
Covidien is based in Dublin, Ireland and has its U.S. corporate headquarters in Mansfield, Massachusetts . It is a $10 billion multinational healthcare products and solutions innovator and manufacturer and has produced leading brands that include Kendall, Nellcor, Valleylab and Puritan-Bennett. It has been an innovator in pulse oximetry, surgical stapling, electrosurgery, embolization devices, laparoscopic instrumentation and other product categories in the medical devices and supplies sector. It has 41 manufacturing facilities in 17 countries and employs 38,000 employees.
James Hardie to Generate over 100 New Jobs
James Hardie will invest $80 million to construct a new manufacturing facility for fiber cement building materials in Plant City as part of its expansion in the Tampa Bay region. The company, which started operating in Plant City in 1994, will double its production capacity so it can meet the increasing demand for James Hardie products across North America.
James Hardie Industries began in 1888 in Australia and has grown to become a global innovator and leader in the manufacture of fiber cement building products. One of its biggest global investments is in Laguna, Philippines.
USAA to Create 1,215 New Tampa Jobs
USAA will invest $164.3 million to expand its operations in the Tampa Bay region, which the company started in Tampa in 1987. USAA has been operating in Florida since the 1970s. To meet increasing demand, it will build a 420,000-square-foot facility at the Crosstown Center in Brandon, and while waiting for the new building, the company will lease space at Lakeview center in Tampa.
The United Services Automobile Association (USAA) is a San Antonio, Texas-based Fortune 500 diversified financial services company that offers various products in auto, life, health and property insurance, banking, investments, retirement planning, financial planning, shopping discounts and special products for the military.
Dart Container to Create 24 New Jobs
Dart Container will invest $14 million to build a 400,000-square-foot facility in Plant City to expand its Hillsborough County operations. It started operating in the Tampa Bay area in 1980 and has grown to around 230 employees.
Dart Container was established in 1937 in Mason, Michigan and has grown to become a global leader in foodservice packaging solutions, with 13 production facilities across the United States and in six other countries.
These companies will not only create Tampa jobs; they will also create great business opportunities for Tampa real estate market participants.
