Sarasota and Pinellas Homes Dominated Tampa Bay Luxury Sales in 2015

A total of 1,121 luxury homes in the Tampa Bay counties of Hernando, Pasco, Hillsborough, Pinellas, Manatee and Sarasota were sold in 2015, and most of these were located in Sarasota and Pinellas.

 

The types of Tampa Bay luxury homes sold were as follows:

862 single-family homes
243 condos
13 townhouses
2 condo-hotels
1 half-duplex

The table below shows that Sarasota and Pinellas luxury homes dominated the Tampa Bay luxury market with 735 properties, accounting for 66% of Tampa Bay’s total luxury sales. Note also that luxury condos in these counties are popular, with nearly a third of their total luxury sales  accounted for by condos.

Sarasota had the most expensive luxury home sold in 2015: a grand Sapphire Shores estate on Sarasota Bay with views of and access to the Gulf Coast, sold for $9 million.  Sarasota also had the most number of luxury homes sold for $3 million and up: 21 properties sold for $4 million to $9 million and 26 properties sold from $3 million to $3,999,999.
